Neil Shearing’s Internet Marketing Strategies

This is an update to the press release post which referred to me sending a press release promoting the blog.

The title of the press release was, “Neil Shearing Gatecrashes the Blogosphere”. Searching for that phrase on Google now shows 71 results at the time of writing.

It seems that most of the results are from syndication of the RSS feed provided by PRWeb which people have added to their sites. Unfortunately, those RSS feeds link to the PRWeb page and not to this blog, so it seems that no inward links were gained. That may be something to consider when you decide whether or not to do a press release. I think, having seen the results, I would prefer to write and syndicate articles because then, under your distribution terms, you can require a link back to your site.

Writing an article and offering it for reprinting at sites like goarticles.com and articlecity.com will be my next little project.
