Neil Shearing’s original articles…
I’ve written hundreds of articles about making money online, working from home and all aspects of running a home based business in the past ten years, many of which are sitting mothballed on my computers or web server. From time to time I’ll be digging some out and posting them here just to give them an airing and get rid of the cobwebs. Obviously I’ll post the ones that are still relevant. I won’t be posting the ones about how great and innovative x.com is. (they were bought out by PayPal in March 2000 , in case you were wondering)
Boy do I feel old!

Hi Neil,
That will be great.
If they still work why reinvent the wheel.
Cheers

I am very new to Internet Affliate Shopping. Only one month, but I seem to be getting al lot of impressions through Google and Yahoo and a few other search engines, but not too many conversions to sales. Is this something to expect in only a month? I have just added Clickbank Ads and am hoping I will have more sales from them.
Need your advice to attract a mailing list. Out of all these impressions, I have only attracting 5 email addresses. I know this is important to succeed in Affiliate Marketing.

Hi Marilyn,
The same applies for your mailing list… you need to sell people on signing up… offer them a quality report or freebie. “Please add me to your mailing list” is really a great incentive… especially when people don’t even know what they’ll be receiving from you.
A lot of new affiliates think that having a link on their sites to the merchant is enough. It’s not. The affiliate needs to pre-sell the product, to talk about it, to excite the visitor so that their clicks to the merchant site become sales. It takes time and effort, but the reward is in the sales.
I hope these thoughts help. For a step-by-step approach, try getting a copy of Andy’s Fat Affiliate Sites for a great perspective on making money as an affiliate… it’s free…
