In a move which leaves you scratching your head and wondering why it took so long, Google have announced they’re launching their own web-browser, Google Chrome.
For some odd reason, they chose to launch the browser as a comic strip. (“we hit “send” a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome”)
So, will it be an “Internet Explorer killer”, a “Firefox killer”, or just another web browser?
I’ll be interesting to see.
This is an SEO test. Please ignore.
Webbrowser, Google Crome, Google Broswer, Safarii, Foxfire, Mozzilla, Mozilla, Geco, Gekko, Chromebrowser
As Neil said, there are plenty of them however, this is going to be the first open source browser of its kind from a search marketing giant. And that could mean that further reduced market share for Microsoft (which is already getting affected by Firefox)

Thanks for leaving a comment after your accidental hit, Ajith.
Neil.
A google browser will definitely be interesting to see….
I have noticed from my own stats that where it used to be 80% IE and 12-15% FF with others like Opera making up the remainder.
It’s not more like 55% IE and 40% FF
Personally – I’ll wait for someones feedback before I switch away from FF…lol

I too have seen Firefox gain lots of ground over the last year or so and I fully expect it to continue.
As for a browser from Google… I’d have a hard time trusting it…really hard.
Interesting this late in the game Google decides to add a browser. But I guess my question would be ‘Why?’. How many browsers or plugins does one need before it becomes another distraction.
I’m operating a business, and really have no time to continually chase the next ‘interesting’ distraction. This appears to be just another ‘idiot lights on the dashboard’ addition to an already vast array of time wasters.
Sounds really interesting, except for Google’s lack of responsiveness when you run into a problem.
I love my Gmail though I have been having problems with it for months now, and no help from Google. More eggs in the same basket a good idea? Maybe not …
I am very reluctant in switching my browser experiences from firefox to google chrome. Unless there are better reasons to do so, such as sites surfed with chrome browser gets better performance in SERPs.
I expected Mozilla are going to be a bit p*$%ed, seeing as they’ve been promoting Google’s toolbar through their install.
It seems that all browsers are promoting Google Chrome for free because Google advertised their Chrome straight from their homepage. Smart move i can say.
Neat SEO trick – wonder how long before they’re all using it?
I have already tried the new Google Chrome… and didn’t like it. lol
It didn’t have the features in it that FireFox has and I need.
I will not be changing… I love my FireFox!
I tend to agree with Neil about avoiding misspellings because it looks amateurish, but I get a lot of keyword research that we use to have articles written for Article Underground and I am amazed at how often misspellings rise to the top of the research. Some of them get huge traffic. The keyword buisiness comes to mind as it apparently is a common misspelling. I’ve had AU members who target buisiness and other misspellings and they have had great success. A lot of adwirds advertisers will even bid on the misspellings so they do have value. I just checked the google keyword tool https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and it shows that buisness gets a monthly volume of 33,100 and people are paying $3.10 for an average click.
buisiness cards $7.56
starting a buisiness $4.48
It just goes to show that maybe obsessing over correct spelling isn’t so smart after all. Put it up there with overly flashy web sites! Misspellings can make money. In fact it’d be nice to have a de-spelling un-checker that suggested popular missplellings :’> Nice piece Neil! Best regards, Mike
