Keith Baxter Launches Refundable CPA Training!

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Keith Baxter, who owns the CPA network ModernClick, is offering to coach people on how to make money with CPA offers for an upfront payment of $297 which Keith will refund when he makes $297 in commissions based on YOUR income from the CPA offer. (Keith makes 20% of what you make because he referred you)

So, if you make $2,000 from an “auto insurance CPA offer”, Keith gets paid $400 directly from the network, and refunds you the $297 upfront payment you paid for your training.

I like that. It’s smart marketing. The network wins because they get quality affiliates who have been trained by Keith, you win because you get training which is refunded if you take action, and Keith wins because he makes money, long term, from productive affiliates he referred to the network.

But, Keith, what the heck does “soup to nuts” mean? Is that a Texan phrase? :)

How To Stop Trackback And Pingback Spam For Old Blog Posts

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I just found this nifty code for disabling all pingbacks and trackbacks for old posts. You run this command as a MySQL query through phpMyAdmin…

UPDATE wp_posts SET ping_status=”closed”;

Note, if you uncheck the boxes for “Allow link notifications from other Weblogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)” in the blog admin area, it only prevents pingbacks and trackbacks for future posts, not old ones.

Running the command, above, will stop pingbacks and trackbacks for old posts.

Detailed “How To”:

Access Cpanel for your webhosting account. Click phpMyAdmin. Select your blog’s database. Click the “SQL” tab at the top of the page. Enter the command and click “Go”.

Job done in 5 seconds. :)

Updating PHP Broke Stuff

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Just to let people know… we upgraded PHP from 4 to 5 to launch a new Support Site and broke a lot of other scripts on the server, including the “updates” for the Spider software. We are working to fix the broken scripts, but some won’t be finished until next week. If you find a broken script, please let us know via the new support system, which is working. :)

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The Secret Lives Of Internet Marketers

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Wow, this takes me back to when I launched Internet Success Diamonds back in 2001… that was the “top three secrets of ten top Internet marketers”.

I’ve just read “The Secret Lives Of Internet Marketers“, compiled by Jason Tarasi. It was a short ebook looking at how multiple online marketers run their business, what their best successes were, and what their biggest failures were.

As Jason says, “”The Secret Lives Of Internet Marketers” takes you inside the minds of some of the Net’s most successful marketers, as they tell you in their own words how they achieved their dreams – and how you can to!”

The ebook requires an opt-in, but apart from that, it’s free.

Comments Are Turned Off

Monday, May 4th, 2009

I’ve turned the comments off, permanently.

As much as I enjoyed letting people gain a “dofollow” link from this blog, and strongly advocate the use of “dofollow”, I personally don’t have the time to moderate posts like, “Thanks for such a nice information.I like it.” by someone just looking for a link and using daft “Name” text like, “Metal Buildings” just for the link benefit. Sadly, most comments are like that.

I know this blog is on lists of “dofollow” blogs, and I also know that people are outsourcing the task of posting on blogs such as these to India, Thailand and other exotic locations for probably two bucks per hour or a nickel per comment. I wouldn’t mind that if people read the posts and wrote thoughtful comments with their true Name and a keyword or two in the name section. What I object to is having to spend my time, which I value at $1,000 per hour, moderating rubbish comments. I’m not going to pay an outsourcer to moderate the rubbish comments either, that just seems like it would extend the problem.

So, comments are turned off. I will still post, and I hope you enjoy the content.
