Had you heard of .yu domains?
No, me neither. I try not to be parochial, but some things just slip past me… one of which is .yu domains… even though Google knows of millions of .co.yu domains!
Well, if you HAD heard of .yu domains, or own one, you may be interested to know that it will stop working from 30th September 2009.
“Maintaining the .yu domain register and propagating information on .yu domains on the Internet will cease on 30 September 2009, regardless of the renewal date. On the very day, all .yu domains will stop functioning on the Internet”
Oh, and it was Yugoslavia, in case you were wondering.
